Miss Marks’ Art
Salmon Struggles
watercolours & river water on cotton paper
Miss Marks was greatly moved when she witnessed the salmon fighting their way upstream of the Stamp River in autumn of 2021. She was so moved that she was inspired to paint this watercolor piece using some of the river water to activate her paints and shape the movement of this piece.

The Sigil Series
digital art series - 2020
When the Covid-19 pandemic began, Miss Marks felt overwhelmed to say the least. She is an American living in Canada, far from her family and unsure when she will get to see them again.
She wished she could reach out and protect all she loved. These intentions inspired The Sigil Series.
A sigil is a symbol that focuses the viewer on something specific. In this case, each sigil was designed for a different person in Miss Marks’ life, and named for the quality she hopes it inspires for them.
A fun way to view this series is to look through all the sigils without reading the titles, and pick the one you like the best. The title of the piece will reveal the quality you were the most drawn to!
